Facade Improvement Grants help the exterior appearance of a building. This grant can include paint, signage, masonry, windows, doors, walkway improvements, facade repairs, ADA modifications, landscaping, pedestrian lighting, etc., or other EDC approved improvement. Panhandle EDC will match dollar-for-dollar, up to $7500.00 from the EDC, for approved facade improvements. Applications may be picked up and returned at City Hall. Monday-Friday 8am-5pm ______________ NOTICE TO ALL LANDLORDS City Ordinance for all utility accounts will change for real property owners. The landlord/property owners will be required to provide a lease agreement for any tenants in order to put the utility bill in their name. It can only be put in landlord's name or name on lease. The deposit will be $150.00 for all new accounts and re-opened accounts with no deposit on account and may be increased if account has several delinquent bills. Cash and Checks are accepted and Draft Service is available on the 10th and 15th of each month for Utility payments to avoid any late fees and these credit card transaction fees if you prefer. Check with Utility Clerk for more information or download the form at commonly requested documents on our website and bring or mail signed original to the City of Panhandle.

The City Landfill is open on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday from 9am-4:30pm for City residents only, weather permitting. Landfill will be closed on Holidays and Holiday Weekends. There is a tree/limb pile at the landfill if you need to haul off any limbs at no charge. Other items are priced at the landfill depending on the size of the load. Landfill rates start at a minimum of $12.25 per load, larger loads and construction materials are charged at $20.00 per cubic yard effective 02/01/2017. Please take your most recent water bill as proof of residency. Shingles are taken with Roof Permit Only & fees paid at City Hall at a rate of $3.50 per square. No large items, shingles or construction material should be put in the dumpsters. Thanks!
City Dump Trucks are available for use by City Residents - Trucks are parked where requested by resident normally on Friday afternoon and picked up on Monday morning. Small Dump Truck - 6yd - $120.00 per load - Large Dump Truck - 12 yd - $240.00 per load.
Special pickup requests for large household items such as furniture or appliances is minimum $20 charge.

The City gladly accepts Credit and Debit Cards in Person or by phone. Draft Service is also available for utility bills on the 10th or 15th of each month. Ask the clerk for details.
Utility bills are due by the 15th. If not paid by 5pm on the 15th, late fees are applied. If not paid by the 5pm on the 25th, a $60.00 Non-Payment/Disconnect fee is applied and services are not turned back on until payment is received in full.
Tornado Sirens Warning System is an outdoor warning system. If you are inside, you may not hear the sirens and should rely on television, internet, or cell phone devices to check the weather and notifications for your area. You may also sign up for City or Code Red Notifications. Testing of Siren System is normally done around noon on Fridays.
